This week is the first holiday since starting Uni in February. The time has gone so fast and University has been such an exciting experience so far, however, I really have been looking forward to this week back at home…
I arrived home on a Friday evening, ready for brunch Saturday morning!
We went to Patiserrie Valerie for tea and a cake.
And I couldn’t have chosen anything further from a cake…oh well, it was almost lunch time.
In fact we all chose a savoury option and completely cleaned our plates…delicious food!
After brunch we had a walk around town and in the evening I met up with some of my old freinds for a much needed Lincoln night out!
But the next day…
My mum had suprised me by booking a Birmingham spa and shopping break as part of my birthday present! She knows me far too well…
We were staying in a new concept hotel that has recently opened up in Birmingham. It encorporates a shopping centre, a spa, a Hotel, a cinema, meeting space, a casino and an abundance of restaurants and bars. It was perfect, all of this under one roof!
Before checking into the Hotel we stopped at, what is now fast becoming a firm favourite coffee shop of mine, Patisserie Valerie!
After a refreshment break and a quick nosey around the complex we checked in. The Hotel lobby was bright and sophisticated with gold accents throughout.
The room was very spacious and had everything we needed.
It even came with it’s very own coffee machine and coffee capsules! A much, much needed gadget!
The T.V knew our name!
We got ready for the evening ahead and stopped for a cute mirror selfie before leaving.
We decided to have dinner at the Bottega prosecco bar…
And we chose the rose prosecco which came beautifully presented in a shining pink bottle.
We slowly enjoyed our prosecco whilst we waited for a table.
But when the food came, our attention quickly changed!
After stuffing ourselves with delicious food we moved onto another bar in the casino where we merrily spent a couple of hours drinking and chatting.
Then it was back to the Hotel and into our cosy beds!
The next day we went shopping, wandering around for the whole morning before returning to the Hotel bar for a coffee.
After our coffee break it was time to leave Birmingham and head back home. What a lovely weekend it has been, a great opportunity to catch up with my good old mum and the added bonus of experiencing an entirely new concept of Hotel to the U.K. I would absoloutley recommend this Hotel.
